I've loved dogs for as long as I can remember. Growing up, our dogs were more than just pets—they were part of the family. But between six years in the military and 15 years in the police, I never really had the right opportunity to have a dog of my own.

That didn’t stop me from spending time with dogs whenever I could! I’d often walk or look after friends’ and family members’ dogs, and every time I had to hand them back, it just made me want one of my own even more.

In 2018, I finally felt ready to fill that dog-shaped gap in my life. I started researching breeds, reading books, and figuring out which dog would suit me best. One breed kept standing out: the Border Terrier—full of character, cheerful, affectionate, and just the right amount of stubborn! That’s how Alfie (officially known as Mr Oreo) came into my life, and it really was love at first sight.

I met my partner, Amanda, and she came along with her 2 year old Wire-Haired Dachshund, Bess. And the two of them have been the best of friends ever since.

We've been living in Sunderland for nearly 2 years now, and we've absolutely loved spending that time exploring the city and discovering all the best walking spots. It's a fantastic place for dog lovers—with plenty of open spaces, parks, and hidden gems that are perfect for adventures.

For me, having dogs isn’t just about companionship—it’s a real responsibility. Being a dog owner has helped me truly understand the trust it takes to leave your furry friend in someone else’s care. That’s why I’m committed to giving every dog I look after the same love, attention, and care I give my own.

With my background in the military and policing, values like integrity, trust, kindness, and reliability are second nature to me. I bring those same principles into everything I do with the dogs I care for—so you can always feel confident your pup is in good hands.

I’m fully insured, licensed with Sunderland Council, DBS checked, and I’ve completed qualifications in both canine first aid and dog behaviour.

With love,
